Fans at Friday's league challenge between the St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC) and the visiting Charleston Math & Science Riptide (Charleston, SC), saw St. John's's basketball squad hold off Charleston Math & Science by a tally of 50-45.

With the victory, St. John's improves its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Islanders host Palmetto Scholars Academy (North Charleston, SC) to confront the Phoenix in a A Region 7 challenge on Monday, February 7. The Phoenix come into the challenge with a record of 6-10. Palmetto Scholars Academy lost 46-38 in their recent league challenge against Cross (Cross, SC)

Next up, the Riptide confront the Whale Branch Warriors (Beaufort, SC) in a A Region 7 challenge, on Saturday, February 5. Charleston Math & Science will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record.
