Minnewaska Area Lakers (Glenwood, MN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Montevideo Thunderhawks (Montevideo, MN), 48-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Minnewaska Area upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to Redwood Valley (Redwood Falls, MN) to play the Cardinals in a AA Section 3 bout on Saturday, February 5. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 1-16. Redwood Valley lost 72-21 in their recent non-league bout against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (Tracy, MN)

Next up, the Thunderhawks play the Lakeview Lakers (Cottonwood, MN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 5. Montevideo will attempt to upgrade on its 13-2 season record. The Lakers come into the bout with a 2-18 record after their 56-35 league loss to Canby (Canby, MN).
