In Saturday's non-league match, the host Briarwood Academy Buccaneers basketball team scored a tight 60-54 triumph over the Piedmont Academy Cougars.

In their next game, the Buccaneers meet the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers (Augusta, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 4 match, on Tuesday, February 7. Briarwood Academy will attempt to better on its 11-11 season record. The Cavaliers enter the match with a 7-13 record after their 51-31 league win over Edmund Burke Academy (Waynesboro, GA).
