Illinois High School Basketball - Lincoln nips Charleston
February 4, 2023: Charleston, IL 61920 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) and the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), saw Lincoln's basketball squad hold off Charleston by a tally of 46-40.
With the victory, Lincoln improves its record to 22-4 on the campaign. The Railsplitters travel to Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL) to play the Braves in a Apollo challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Braves come into the challenge with a record of 24-2. Mt. Zion won 65-26 in their recent league challenge against Taylorville (Taylorville, IL)
Next up, the Trojans play the Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL) in a Apollo challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Charleston will attempt to improve on its 9-14 season record. The Flaming Hearts come into the challenge with a 10-17 record after their 61-44 league loss to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL).
