New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan overwhelms Cloudcroft
February 4, 2023: Cloudcroft, NM 88317 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) and the host Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM), saw Capitan's basketball squad wallop Cloudcroft by a tally of 53-18.
With the victory, Capitan improves its record to 18-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Tularosa (Tularosa, NM) to play the Wildcats in a 2A District 3 challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 11-11. Tularosa lost 52-45 in their recent league challenge against Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM)
Next up, the Bears play the Hagerman Bobcats (Hagerman, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Cloudcroft will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 52-36 non-league loss to Dora (Dora, NM).
