New York High School Basketball - DeWitt Clinton can't hold off Cardinal Hayes
February 4, 2024: Bronx, NY 10451 The Cardinal Hayes Cardinals basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting DeWitt Clinton Governors to 70 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Sunday.
The Cardinals now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Iona Prep for a Catholic AA - New York contest on Tuesday, February 6. Cardinal Hayes will battle a Gaels team coming off a 63-45 non-league win over St. Anthony's (Melville, NY). The Gaels record now stands at 9-4.
The Governors (14-2) will now prepare for their contest against Columbus (Bronx, NY). The Blue Steel enter the PSAL AAA Bronx contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Columbus nudged Dodge Vocational (Bronx, NY), 67-34, in a league contest.
