Louisiana High School Basketball - Grand Lake knocks off Merryville
February 4, 2025: Merryville, LA 70653 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Grand Lake Hornets (Lake Charles, LA) and the host Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA), observed Grand Lake's basketball team overcome Merryville by a margin of 61-51.
The Hornets (13-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Oberlin (Oberlin, LA). The Tigers come into the 1A District 4 challenge with a 16-14 record. In their last challenge, Oberlin defeated Elton (Elton, LA), 60-19, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Basile Bearcats (Basile, LA) in a 1A District 4 challenge, on Friday, February 7. Merryville will attempt to better on its 18-7 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 17-8 record after their 62-30 league loss to Hamilton Christian (Lake Charles, LA).
