The Lamar Vikings basketball team (Arlington, TX), was overwhelmed 77-50 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX)

The Gophers now possess a 12-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bowie for a 6A Region I District 8 battle on Tuesday, February 8. Grand Prairie will confront a Volunteers team coming off a 54-42 league loss to Martin (Arlington, TX). The Volunteers record now stands at 14-9.

The Vikings (2-19) will now prepare for their battle against Sam Houston (Arlington, TX). The Texans come into the 6A Region I District 8 battle with a 3-19 record. In their last battle, Sam Houston was overwhelmed by South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX), 85-53, in a league battle.
