Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), 43-40 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Topsail advances its record to 15-2 on the year. The Pirates travel to Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to face the Screaming Eagle in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 11. The Screaming Eagle enter the match with a record of 3-3.

The Buccaneers now own a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host New Hanover for a non-league match on Friday, February 7.
