New Mexico High School Basketball - Carrizozo holds off Hondo Valley
February 6, 2024: Hondo, NM 88336 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM) and the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), saw Carrizozo's basketball squad hold off Hondo Valley by a tally of 43-37.
With the victory, Carrizozo improves its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Mountainair (Mountainair, NM) to confront the Mustangs in a A District 3 challenge on Friday, February 9. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 9-10. Mountainair won 69-41 in their recent league challenge against Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM) in a A District 3 challenge, on Thursday, February 8. Hondo Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 70-28 league win over Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM).
