In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Edmund Burke Academy Spartans basketball team scored a good 59-48 triumph over the Glascock County Panthers.

The Spartans (20-3) will now prepare for their contest against Monsignor Donovan Catholic (Athens, GA). The Rams go into the GIAA AA Region 4 contest with a 0-13 record. In their last contest, Monsignor Donovan Catholic was toppled by Elbert County (Elberton, GA), 67-2, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Panthers confront the Twiggs County Cobras (Jeffersonville, GA) in a A D2 Region 5 contest, on Friday, February 7. Glascock County will attempt to better on its 10-14 season record. The Cobras go into the contest with a 2-20 record after their 68-25 non-league loss to Upson-Lee (Thomaston, GA).
