The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts (Tucson, AZ) and the host Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ), observed Mica Mountain's basketball team knock off Ironwood Ridge by a score of 80-66.

The Thunderbolts (14-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Sahuaro (Tucson, AZ). The Cougars come into the 4A Kino challenge with a 20-2 record. In their last battle, Sahuaro thwarted Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ), 69-62, in a league battle.

The Nighthawks now own a 12-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rincon/University for a non-league battle on Monday, February 9. Ironwood Ridge will meet a Rangers squad coming off a 57-51 league loss to Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ). The Rangers record now stands at 2-16.
