Texas High School Basketball - Sands triumphant over Loop

February 6, 2026: Loop, TX 79342

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) and the host Loop Longhorns (Loop, TX), observed Sands's basketball team overwhelm Loop by a margin of 63-28.

The Mustangs (23-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Dawson (Welch, TX). The Dragons come into the 1A Region I District 6 challenge with a 6-9 record.

In their next game, the Longhorns battle the Borden County Coyotes (Gail, TX) in a 1A Region I District 6 contest, on Tuesday, February 10. Loop will attempt to better on its 2-18 season record. The Coyotes come into the contest with a 16-11 record after their 35-33 league win over Grady (Lenorah, TX).
