Indiana High School Basketball - Smith Academy edges Hamilton
February 7, 2023: Hamilton, IN 46742 The Smith Academy Fighting 54th (Fort Wayne, IN) basketball nipped the host Hamilton Marines (Hamilton, IN), 56-51 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Fighting 54th (5-10) will now prepare for their test against Fort Wayne Canterbury (Fort Wayne, IN). The Cavaliers go into the Freelance test with a 4-13 record. In their last test, Fort Wayne Canterbury was tipped by Prairie Heights (LaGrange, IN), 69-55, in a non-league test.
The Marines now own a 0-16 record. They play next when they travel to Churubusco for a Northeast Corner contest on Friday, February 10. Hamilton will battle a Eagles team coming off a 60-48 non-league loss to Lakewood Park Christian (Auburn, IN). The Eagles record now stands at 2-13.
