Illinois High School Basketball - Marquette nips Serena
February 7, 2023: Ottawa, IL 61350 Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Serena Huskers (Serena, IL), 62-60 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Marquette upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Crusaders travel to Woodland (Streator, IL) to play the Warriors in a Tri-County bout on Friday, February 10. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 8-18. Woodland won 64-18 in their recent non-league bout against Leland (Leland, IL)
Next up, the Huskers play the Hiawatha Hawks (Kirkland, IL) in a Little Ten bout, on Friday, February 10. Serena will attempt to upgrade on its 22-7 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 5-19 record after their 55-30 non-league loss to Mooseheart (Mooseheart, IL).
