Illinois High School Basketball - Putnam County holds off Marquette
December 10, 2022: Ottawa, IL 61350 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL) and the host Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL), saw Putnam County's basketball squad hold off Marquette by a tally of 47-45.
With the victory, Putnam County improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host Somonauk (Somonauk, IL) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Somonauk won 65-27 in their recent league challenge against Leland (Leland, IL)
Next up, the Crusaders confront the Indian Creek Timberwolves (Shabbona, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 13. Marquette will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a 3-7 record after their 48-42 non-league win over Woodland (Streator, IL).
