South Dakota High School Basketball - Newell tops Oelrichs
February 7, 2023: Newell, SD 57760 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Newell Irrigators (Newell, SD) and the visiting Oelrichs Tigers (Oelrichs, SD), saw Newell's basketball squad knock off Oelrichs by a count of 58-48.
With the victory, Newell upgrades its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Irrigators host Timber Lake (Timber Lake, SD) to play the Panthers in a B Region 8 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 7-8. Timber Lake won 80-78 in their recent non-league challenge against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (Eagle Butte, SD)
Next up, the Tigers play the Takini Skyhawks (Howes, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 9. Oelrichs will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 89-54 non-league loss to Flandreau Indian (Flandreau, SD).
