Kentucky High School Basketball - Morgan County overwhelms Elliott County
February 7, 2024: West Liberty, KY 41472 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) and the visiting Elliott County Lions (Sandy Hook, KY), saw Morgan County's basketball squad wallop Elliott County by a tally of 73-45.
With the victory, Morgan County improves its record to 14-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host West Carter (Olive Hill, KY) to play the Comets in a District 62 challenge on Friday, February 9. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 7-14. West Carter lost 67-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY)
Next up, the Lions play the Rose Hill Christian Royals (Ashland, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 8. Elliott County will attempt to improve on its 2-20 season record. The Royals come into the challenge with a 5-13 record after their 91-58 non-league loss to Bath County (Owingsville, KY).
