February 7, 2025: Marrero, LA 70072 In Friday's league test, the Archbishop Shaw Eagles (Marrero, LA) basketball squad trounced the visiting St. Charles Catholic Comets (LaPlace, LA), by a score of 73-38.
Next, the Eagles encounter the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls (Kenner, LA) in a 4A District 9 test, on Saturday, February 8. Archbishop Shaw will attempt to improve on its 24-3 season record. The Swamp Owls come into the test with a 9-17 record after their 56-46 non-league loss to Pope John Paul II (Slidell, LA).
The Comets (18-18) will now prepare for their test against Willow (New Orleans, LA). The Lions come into the 4A District 9 test with a 13-14 record. In their last test, Willow bounced Riverside Academy (Reserve, LA), 52-49, in a non-league test.
