In Friday's league contest, the host Bay City Blackcats basketball team scored a good 59-44 triumph over the Columbia Roughnecks.

The Blackcats (11-10) will now prepare for their contest against Brazosport (Freeport, TX). The Exporters go into the 4A Region IV District 29 contest with a 19-11 record. In their last contest, Brazosport topped Needville (Needville, TX), 59-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Roughnecks battle the La Marque Cougars (La Marque, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 29 contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Columbia will attempt to better on its 10-23 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 34-2 record after their 87-33 league win over El Campo (El Campo, TX).
