The Westhope/Newburg Sioux (Westhope, ND) basketball edged the visiting Bishop Ryan Lions (Minot, ND), 57-53 in Friday's league bout.

The Sioux now possess a 15-2 record. They play next when they travel to Surrey for a B District 6 bout on Monday, February 10. Westhope/Newburg will play a Mustangs team coming off a 69-35 non-league loss to Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] (Turtle Lake, ND). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-11.
