The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Ledford Panthers (Thomasville, NC) and the visiting Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), observed Ledford's basketball team overwhelm Asheboro by a score of 51-26.

The Panthers (17-4) will now prepare for their challenge against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights come into the 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge with a 5-15 record. In their last challenge, North Davidson was routed by Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 54-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Blue Comets encounter the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) in a 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge, on Tuesday, February 11. Asheboro will attempt to improve on its 4-17 season record. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a 6-14 record after their 68-25 league loss to Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC).
