The Galena Pirates (Galena, IL) basketball edged the host River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats (Hanover, IL), 57-53 in Friday's league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 17-11 record. They play next when they host Warren for a Northwest Upstate Illini - West bout on Monday, February 10. Galena will play a Warriors team coming off a 51-21 non-league loss to East Dubuque (East Dubuque, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 6-15.
