Louisiana High School Basketball - McGehee overwhelms Varnado
February 7, 2025: Angie, LA 70426 The McGehee Hawks basketball team scored 52 points and limited the host Varnado Wildcats to 27 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Friday.
The Hawks now possess a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to St. Martin's Episcopal for a non-league game on Saturday, February 8. McGehee will confront a Saints team coming off a 65-45 non-league loss to Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA). The Saints record now stands at 10-3.
With the loss, Varnado falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to GEO Next Generation (Baton Rouge, LA) to confront the Tigers in a non-league game on Wednesday, February 12. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 18-10. GEO Next Generation lost 61-6 in their recent league game against Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, LA)
