Falls Lake Firebirds (Creedmoor, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting N.C. School of Science & Math Unicorns (Durham, NC), 61-58 in a league bout.

With the win, Falls Lake upgrades its record to 5-15 on the season. The Firebirds travel to Franklin Academy (Wake Forest, NC) to play the Patriots in a 1A/2A Conference 12 bout on Thursday, February 10. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 10-13. Franklin Academy won 59-54 in their recent league bout against Research Triangle (Research Triangle Park, NC)

Next up, the Unicorns play the Research Triangle Raptors (Research Triangle Park, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 12 bout, on Friday, February 11. N.C. School of Science & Math will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Raptors go into the bout with a 20-7 record after their 66-59 league win over East Wake Academy (Zebulon, NC).
