West Virginia High School Basketball - Ripley nudges Nitro

February 8, 2022: Nitro, WV 25143

Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV), 53-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ripley upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Vikings host St. Albans (St. Albans, WV) to clash with the Red Dragons in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 9. The Red Dragons go into the bout with a record of 6-4. St. Albans lost 68-66 in their recent league bout against Capital (Charleston, WV)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Lincoln County Panthers (Hamlin, WV) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 11. Nitro will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 62-48 non-league loss to Mingo Central (Matewan, WV).
