West Virginia High School Basketball - Lincoln County nips Liberty

February 8, 2023: Hamlin, WV 25523

Lincoln County Panthers (Hamlin, WV) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Liberty Raiders (Glen Daniel, WV), 42-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lincoln County upgrades its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Panthers host Mingo Central (Matewan, WV) to play the Miners in a non-league bout on Friday, February 10. The Miners come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Mingo Central lost 69-47 in their recent non-league bout against Tug Valley (Williamson, WV)

Next up, the Raiders play the Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) in a Coalfield AA bout, on Friday, February 10. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 66-52 non-league loss to Princeton (Princeton, WV).
