Union City Bears (Union City, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Eisenhower Knights (Russell, PA), 58-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Union City upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Bears host Maplewood (Guys Mills, PA) to play the Tigers in a District 10 Region 2 bout on Friday, February 11. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Maplewood lost 60-37 in their recent league bout against Cambridge Springs (Cambridge Springs, PA)

Next up, the Knights play the Cochranton Cardinals (Cochranton, PA) in a District 10 Region 2 bout, on Friday, February 11. Eisenhower will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 61-42 league win over Iroquois (Erie, PA).
