The Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 75-72 in Friday's league test.

The Warhorses (6-14) will now prepare for their test against Madison (Marshall, NC). The Patriots go into the 1A/2A Western Highlands test with a 10-13 record. In their last test, Madison was tipped by Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC), 68-48, in a league test.
