Illinois High School Basketball - New Athens tops Lebanon
February 9, 2024: New Athens, IL 62264 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) and the visiting Lebanon Greyhounds (Lebanon, IL), saw New Athens's basketball squad knock off Lebanon by a count of 48-31.
With the victory, New Athens upgrades its record to 12-14 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets travel to Carlyle (Carlyle, IL) to play the Indians/Lady Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 10. The Indians/Lady Indians come into the challenge with a record of 19-10. Carlyle lost 42-36 in their recent league challenge against Red Bud (Red Bud, IL)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the First Baptist Academy (O'Fallon, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 12. Lebanon will attempt to upgrade on its 8-19 season record. The come into the challenge with a 13-11 record after their 56-42 non-league loss to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL).
