March 1, 2024: Americus, GA 31709 Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Worth County Rams (Sylvester, GA), 4-3 in a league challenge.
Next, the Panthers confront the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA) in a 2A Area 1 challenge, on Tuesday, March 5. Sumter County will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 4-4 non-league Long County (Ludowici, GA).
The Rams now have a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they host Cook for a 2A Area 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Worth County will confront a Hornets team coming off a 3-2 league win over Dodge County (Eastman, GA). The Hornets record now stands at 3-4.
