West Virginia High School Basketball - Moorefield can't hold off Liberty
March 1, 2025: Moorefield, WV 26836 Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Moorefield Yellow Jackets (Moorefield, WV), 41-36 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Liberty upgrades its record to 9-12 on the year. The Mountaineers host South Harrison (Lost Creek, WV) to face the Hawks in a non-league match on Monday, March 3. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 9-10. South Harrison lost 51-50 in their recent non-league match against Wirt County (Elizabeth, WV)
The Yellow Jackets now sport a 7-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Doddridge County for a non-league match on Friday, March 7. Moorefield will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 63-60 non-league loss to Ritchie County (Ellenboro, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 18-4.
