The Avery County Vikings baseball squad (Newland, NC), was overwhelmed 14-8 in Tuesday's league contest with the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC)

With the triumph, Madison moves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Patriots travel to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC) to confront the Black Hawks in a non-league contest on Wednesday, March 12. The Black Hawks come into the contest with a record of 6-0. North Buncombe won 9-3 in their recent non-league contest against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC)

The Vikings now possess a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Madison for a Western Highlands 1A/2A bout on Friday, March 14. Avery County will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-4.
