The Somerset Bulldogs softball team scored 21 runs and held the host Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) to 3 in the Bulldogs league win on Thursday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 16-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carrizo Springs for a 4A Region IV District 27 battle on Tuesday, March 17. Somerset will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 16-2 league loss to Devine (Devine, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-15.

The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Pearsall (Pearsall, TX). The Mavericks enter the 4A Region IV District 27 challenge with a 4-8 record. In their last challenge, Pearsall was routed by Floresville (Floresville, TX), 19-4, in a league challenge.
