North Carolina High School Softball - Murphy bounces Smoky Mountain
March 13, 2023: Murphy, NC 28906 The Murphy Bulldogs routed the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs softball squad by a count of 15-0 in Monday's non-league battle.
The Bulldogs (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Black Knights go into the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 2-1 record. In their last battle, Robbinsville was routed by Enka (Enka, NC), 6-5, in a non-league battle.
The Mustangs now sport a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to North Henderson for a Mountain Seven 3A battle on Tuesday, March 14. Smoky Mountain will meet a Knights squad coming off a 9-3 non-league win over Asheville (Asheville, NC). The Knights record now stands at 2-2.
