Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) supporters exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they witnessed their baseball team get by the visiting Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX), 8-7 in a league game.

The Mustangs (9-7) will now prepare for their game against Amarillo (Amarillo, TX). The Sandies go into the 5A Region I District 3 game with a 16-2 record. In their last game, Amarillo nudged Frenship (Wolfforth, TX), 8-5, in a non-league outing.
