Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Wall Hawks (Wall, TX), 16-0 in a league challenge.

The Badgers now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they host Jim Ned for a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Merkel will battle a Indians squad coming off a 15-13 league loss to Wall (Wall, TX). The Indians record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Wall falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Hawks host Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX) to battle the Eagles in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 15. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Grape Creek lost 24-14 in their recent league challenge against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy (San Angelo, TX)
