In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX) softball team held off the visiting Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), by a margin of 9-8.

With the triumph, Rusk moves its record to 13-9 on the year. The Eagles travel to Madisonville (Madisonville, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 4A Region III District 18 contest on Friday, March 17.
