Unicoi County Blue Devils (Erwin, TN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Volunteer Falcons (Church Hill, TN), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Blue Devils now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elizabethton for a 3A District 1 challenge on Thursday, March 17. Unicoi County will face a Fighting Cyclones squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Chuckey-Doak (Afton, TN). The Fighting Cyclones record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Volunteer falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Falcons host Sullivan East (Bluff City, TN) to face the Patriots in a 3A District 1 challenge on Thursday, March 17. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Sullivan East lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Daniel Boone (Gray, TN)
