March 15, 2024: Bedford, VA 24523 The Staunton River Golden Eagles softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Liberty Minutemen to 3 in the Golden Eagles non-league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, Staunton River moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles host Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league game on Monday, March 18. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 0-3. Magna Vista lost 21-4 in their recent non-league game against Chatham (Chatham, VA)
In their next game, the Minutemen clash with the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, March 16. Liberty will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Comets come into the game with a 1-0 record after their 0-0 non-league Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA).
