The Porter Ridge Pirates overwhelmed the host Palisades Pumas softball squad by a count of 16-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates meet the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) in a Southern Carolina 4A challenge, on Tuesday, March 18. Porter Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Mavericks go into the challenge with a 7-0 record after their 13-5 non-league win over Parkwood (Monroe, NC).

The Pumas (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC). The Wolves go into the So Meck 4A challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Ballantyne Ridge toppled Berry (Charlotte, NC), 16-6, in a league challenge.
