March 16, 2023: Gilbert, SC 29054 In Thursday's league contest, the Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC), by a margin of 16-0.
With the triumph, Gilbert moves its record to 7-3 on the year. The Indians host Swansea (Swansea, SC) to play the Tigers in a AAA Region 5 contest on Tuesday, March 21. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 4-2. Swansea won 11-0 in their recent league contest against Dreher (Columbia, SC)
In their next game, the Diamond Hornets play the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats (Cayce, SC) in a AAA Region 5 contest, on Tuesday, March 21. Lower Richland will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Bearcats come into the contest with a 3-1 record after their 18-0 league win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC).
