In Thursday's non-league contest, the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) softball team held off the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), by a margin of 3-2.

With the triumph, Mountain Heritage moves its record to 3-1 on the year. The Cougars host Blue Ridge Sports Academy (Swannanoa, NC) to play the Guardians in a contest on Monday, March 21. The Guardians come into the contest with a record of 0-1. Blue Ridge Sports Academy lost 15-8 in their recent non-league contest against Asheville Trailblazers (Asheville, NC)
