Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the Modesto Panthers (Modesto, CA) and the host Merced Bears (Merced, CA), saw Modesto's baseball squad knock off Merced by a count of 8-0.

Coming up next, the Panthers play the Pitman Pride (Turlock, CA) in a Central California Athletic battle, on Monday, March 20. Modesto will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record. The Pride enter the battle with a 3-3 record after their 8-5 non-league loss to Lincoln (Stockton, CA).
