Merced Bears (Merced, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Central Valley Hawks (Ceres, CA), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, Merced upgrades its record to 4-13 on the season. The Bears host Hughson (Hughson, CA) to battle the Huskies in a non-league test on Friday, April 21. The Huskies come into the test with a record of 14-2. Hughson won 10-0 in their recent non-league test against More (San Jose, CA)

With the defeat, Central Valley falls to 10-11 on the season. The Hawks host Escalon (Escalon, CA) to battle the Cougars in a non-league test on Friday, April 21. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 10-7. Escalon won 5-3 in their recent league test against Hilmar (Hilmar, CA)
