California High School Softball - San Marin holds off McKinleyville

San Marin Mustangs (Novato, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McKinleyville Panthers (McKinleyville, CA), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Marin Catholic for a Marin County challenge on Monday, March 20. San Marin will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-2 league loss to San Rafael (San Rafael, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, McKinleyville falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Panthers host Eureka (Eureka, CA) to face the Loggers in a Big 5 challenge on Wednesday, April 5. The Loggers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2.
