In Friday's non-league outing, the host Nitro Wildcats softball team scored a close 14-12 win over the Ripley Vikings.

Coming up next, the Wildcats battle the Wayne Pioneers (Wayne, WV) in a Cardinal outing, on Saturday, March 18. Nitro will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Pioneers enter the outing with a 0-1 record after their 11-10 non-league loss to Huntington (Huntington, WV).
