March 19, 2025: Valdez, AK 99686 The Barrow Whalers (Utqiagvik, AK) basketball edged the host Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK), 59-52 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Whalers now possess a 17-10 record. They play next when they travel to Nome-Beltz for a non-league bout on Thursday, March 20. Barrow will play a Nanooks team coming off a 67-19 non-league win over Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK). The Nanooks record now stands at 23-2.
With the loss, Valdez falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Thursday, March 20. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 11-12. Hutchison won 38-34 in their recent league bout against Delta (Delta Junction, AK)
