The West Marion Trojans the host Loyd Star Hornets softball squad by a count of 6-2 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Trojans (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against Salem (Tylertown, MS). The Wildcats go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Hornets now sport a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Florence for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 7. Loyd Star will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 11-2 non-league loss to Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 3-4.
