March 20, 2024: Columbus, NC 28722 The Polk County Wolverines baseball team (Columbus, NC), was overwhelmed 14-1 in Wednesday's non-league outing with the visiting Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC)
The Warriors now hold a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hendersonville for a non-league outing on Monday, March 25. Erwin will confront a Bearcats team coming off a 10-0 league loss to R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-7.
Next, the Wolverines confront the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a Mountain Foothills 7 1A/2A outing, on Thursday, March 21. Polk County will attempt to advance on its 6-3 season record. The Panthers go into the outing with a 3-4 record after their 14-7 league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC).
